Psychodynamic Oriented Therapy

Psychodynamic-oriented psychotherapy is a deeply rich therapeutic approach that explores the influence of unconscious processes and early life experiences on current behavior, emotions, and relationships, otherwise known as our biases. This therapy focuses on uncovering and understanding underlying psychological conflicts and unresolved issues that shape an individual’s thoughts and behaviors. During sessions, the therapist and client work collaboratively to bring these unconscious patterns to light. By gaining insight into these deep-seated emotional conflicts and internalized patterns, clients can achieve greater self-awareness and personal growth. This approach aims to resolve inner conflicts, improve emotional regulation, and foster healthier interpersonal relationships, ultimately leading to lasting psychological change and well-being.

This approach is used for long-term therapy and can be effective for many people who may have problems with their interpersonal relationships.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses creative activities, like drawing and painting, to help individuals express and explore emotions and psychological issues. By engaging in art, clients can reveal and address underlying feelings, gain self-awareness, and find healing. This method is especially useful for those who struggle with verbal expression, providing a nonverbal outlet for personal insight and stress relief. Art therapy promotes emotional growth and improved communication in a supportive environment.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, evidence-informed approach to healing and self-understanding that recognizes we’re all made up of many “parts.” You might notice an inner critic, a worrier, a people-pleaser, a protector, or a younger part that still carries old hurts. In IFS, none of these parts are seen as “bad” or something to get rid of—they’ve each developed for a reason, often to help you survive, stay safe, or feel loved. Even the parts that create anxiety, overwhelm, or stuck patterns are trying to protect you in the only ways they know how.

At EmbodyMind Wellness, IFS work is an invitation to meet your inner world with curiosity and compassion. Together, we learn to identify and understand your parts, soften internal conflict, and relieve the burdens they’ve been carrying—like fear, shame, grief, or perfectionism. As trust grows inside, your natural core Self can lead: the calm, clear, wise presence in you that holds qualities like courage, connection, and steadiness.

IFS can support you if you’re feeling anxious, burned out, self-critical, emotionally reactive, disconnected from your body, or repeating patterns you’re ready to change. Sessions move at your pace and honor your lived experience, helping you build an inner relationship that feels more supportive, spacious, and aligned.

This is not about fixing you. It’s about coming home to you—creating an inner community where every part belongs, and where healing becomes possible from the inside out.
